4 Days Uganda Gorillas And Golden Monkey Trekking Safari

Gorilla trekking, after an early breakfast on the second day of the 4 days Uganda gorillas and golden monkey trekking safari, you will carry packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing you will be sub-divided into groups of 8 people where each group will be allocated a habituated gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is well conversant with gorilla trekking trails. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on the location of the mountain gorillas because they like to move from one place to another in search of food.

During trekking you will enjoy views of other wildlife species including forest elephants, buffaloes, duikers, and other primates like chimpanzees, l’hoest monkeys, and black and white colobus monkeys, variety of bird species, view different plant and tree species among others. Once the  mountain gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to observe their habits, lifestyle, behaviors, watch them feed, play, breastfeed, groom young ones, take photos and record videos to show people back home after the safari. After the interesting one hour with the mountain gorillas you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and later meet up with your driver guide to transfer back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast on the third day of the 4 days Uganda gorillas and golden monkey trekking safari, you will check out of the lodge and transfer to Mgahinga gorilla national park for a briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during golden monkey trekking. After the briefing you will be allocated an experienced park guide and start trekking in the forest in search of the golden monkeys which takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on where the golden monkeys are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During golden monkey trekking you will be able to view other primate species, different birds, plants among others and once the golden monkeys are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn about their behaviors, watch them feed, play, jump up in trees, take photos and record videos. After the one hour encounter with the golden monkeys you will trek back to the starting point where you will meet up with your driver guide and drive to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch you will either relax at the lodge or go for an optional boat cruise on Lake Mutanda where you will enjoy great views of the Virunga Mountains, beautiful scenery, landscape, view aquatic bird species among others. After the boat cruise you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After a relaxed breakfast on the last day of the 4 days Uganda gorillas and golden monkeys trekking safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer back to Kampala. On the way you will have en-route lunch and enjoy great views of the Kigezi hills, traditional homesteads, beautiful landscape among others arriving in Kampala early evening. Upon arrival your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of convenience.
